About David Harriman
David was born in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
He is represented in London, New York and Paris.
David has had images exhibited in National Portrait Gallery, London in the John Kobal, Schweppes and Taylor Wessing Awards. He has also had several group and solo shows at independent galleries.
He has been recipient of many industry awards including the Association of Photographers, Creative Review Annual, Cannes Lions, Clios, Creative Circle, Communication Arts, Campaign Press & Poster Awards, D & AD, Epica, New York Photo Awards and The One Show.
He is currently making a documentary following Truth and Kitty, a homeless couple living on the streets of Las Vegas.
David's long term photographic projects include:
La Linea : Shot over a period of twelve years, documenting the border that runs for two thousand miles between Mexico and the USA.
Mariposa: Portraits of deported Mexican migrants at the Mariposa crossing in Nogales, Mexico.
Meadow's Edge: An ongoing photographic document of the people at the edge of Las Vegas.
Fifty Three Degrees : A photographic essay portraying the exact latitude of his childhood home. This project has taken him to Russia, Canada, Poland, Germany and the UK.
The Rust Belt : A collection dating from 2004 until the present day documenting the industrial heartlands of the Midwest USA.
Of Biblical Proportions: Photographed in Jordan, Egypt and Israel. This project observes places of miraculous happenings in the modern age.
Red State: Portraits made in some of the most republican leaning counties in the USA during the week of the inauguration of Barack Obama in 2009.
