David Kalb was born and raised in Los Angeles. His interest in photography began at an early age, observing his uncle develop and print images in his home darkroom. After graduating high school and traveling through Europe during the summer of ’72, he journeyed to California’s North Coast, attending Humboldt State University.
Kalb has been shooting on the street for eight years. His fourth street exhibit was this past January at the Viewpoint Photographic Art Center in Sacramento. His three prior shows were in Davis, CA, his hometown. In addition to solo street photography exhibit, Kalb has been featured in juried group shows at Pence Gallery (Davis), Morro Bay Art Center and at Viewpoint. The Yolo Basin Foundation, where Kalb volunteers as a photographer, uses his images in a variety of their promotional materials and social media.
Kalb has been an active member of Viewpoint since 2012 and currently sits on the Board of Directors as Vice President.
