I am an artist and educator with a background in sculpture, mixed media, and ceramics. As a child, I always had a little camera and took pictures of everything. In college, while earning my BFA I took a required photo class. My teacher was much more interested in the male students and me being an introvert, I moved to ceramics and printmaking. I now see many similarities to photography in ceramics and printmaking. The process of making an image, the ability to make multiples, the marking of a second in time. I have now returned to photography where I should have always been. I've spent a lifetime, experimenting with materials, improvising, collaborating and letting the process guide me as an artist. My approach to photography is the same.
