Diane Pierce has used the medium of photography as her most primary, expressive tool. She studied both Painting and Drawing and Photography as an undergraduate student at San Francisco State University and did graduate studies at Mills College, Oakland, CA, specifically in photography. She has a thorough background in traditional and digital skills as well as alternative photographic processes, and has often crossed the territories of a variety of mediums. Her work is in the collections of MOMA, San Francisco, The MFA, Houston, The Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris, Mills College Art Museum, and has quietly exhibited over the past twenty-five years. She is the Photography Chair at De Anza College, Cupertino, CA.
