Dina Shirin is a New York-based photographer and her work focuses primarily on portraiture. She believes the process of making an image is a layered, emotional expression capturing a moment in time. In her work, she explores memories and dreamlike scenes which organically arise in an almost trancelike state, serving as a spiritual catharsis, where the subject and the photographer become one, a reflection of each other.
