Dries Lips is born in Deinze, Belgium in 1983. In 2006 he gets a master's degree in architecture at the University of Ghent. He lives one year in Paris and one year in Tokyo. There he starts practising photography. From 2010 to 2015 he studies fine arts photography at Koninklijke Academie voor Schone kunsten in Antwerp and at Sint-Lucas Academie and Academie Beeldende Kunst in Ghent. Through his recent series 'On Candlemas Snow Falls On a Warm Rock' and 'Saint Gertrude's day' he explores the landscape and the limits of photography. Dries lives and works in Antwerp.
