During his first solo trip to Europe at the age of 18, Drowster realises that he is simply unable to appreciate the present moment. He notices this as he finds himself facing the Rome Coliseum, unable to savour the beauty of the historical gem that stands before him. Once homebound, he begins to develop aptitudes that start making him appreciate the present moment which slowly make him realize the beauties of the world that surround him. Solely with the use of his smartphone, he starts photographing anything from his day to day life which he finds beauty in, from the natural light reflecting off his dining room table and in nature, to the numerous breathtaking sunsets he sees around his home.
He starts collecting his pictures by posting them daily on his Instagram account under his nickname : Drowster. While developing his own technique and style derived from mobile photography, and the encouragements of his friends, he notices that these encouragements are slowly starting to expand towards the outside world thanks to the social aspect of Instagram. Consequently, in October of 2014, he finally purchases his first digital camera.
Since this acquisition, he is signing collaborations with The North Face, Via Rail, Herschel Supply, Aritzia, Urban Outfitters, Passion Passport and others, in addition to being named ‘’Montreal’s new photographic sensation’’ by the internet blog Ton Barbier.
Drowster now wants to explore the planet and pursue his main goal: show the beauty of the world we live in.
