BIOGRAPHY
Elvira Gómez Vila holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Photography from the International University of La Rioja (UNIR). She is a Spanish photographer specialising in documentary photography. Her work focuses on everyday life, landscapes and the memory of historic places, with a particular interest in territories undergoing transformation. She has developed projects in Iran, the Aral Sea, Armenia and Ukraine.
Through her images, she explores the relationship between territories and the people who inhabit them, documenting both their beauty and their social, cultural and environmental complexities. Her photography pays particular attention to everyday gestures, personal testimonies and the details that shape the identity and memory of communities.

2025 — Selected by PHotoESPAÑA, in collaboration with La Fábrica, to participate in the Festival of Ideas at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid.

2024 — First Prize, AGEX Group of Companies Photography Award.
2023 — Finalist, AGEX Group of Companies Photography Award.
2022 — Finalist in PHotoESPAÑA Discoveries with the project The Aral Sea, created in Uzbekistan.
2021 — Selected by curator Susan Bright for the portfolio reviews organised by PHotoESPAÑA through the Amigos PHE platform.
2020 — Encuentros en tiempo presente group exhibition, organised by the Alcobendas Art Centre and PHotoESPAÑA.
2020 — Felices touring group exhibition in Pamplona, organised by Feliceslab and supported by “la Caixa” Foundation and Caja Navarra Foundation.
2020 — Master’s Degree in Photojournalism from the European Institute of Journalism and Communication.

2019 — Selected by PHotoESPAÑA to participate in a travel photography programme led by photographer Tino Soriano.
2014 — Founding member of the Madrid Photographic Association.
2014–2018 — Founder and coordinator of Grupo de Retrato, a photography group dedicated to studying portraiture through workshops, the work of established photographers and photographic events.
Since 2010 — Corporate photographer at INECO.
PUBLICATIONS AND COLLABORATIONS
Her work has appeared in El Hedonista, ITtransporte and Lonely Planet, as well as in publications produced by the Association of Religious Brotherhoods of Málaga and the Italian CCI group connected with the Venice Carnival.
