My work is about identity, connection and intimacy. I pay attention to shapes, postures and the alienation it can manifest. I show what remains hidden normally.
Growing up in a family of artists with a graphic artist father, I learned to look in primary forms and in lines. Because I work with templates, I pay a lot of attention to shapes and planes and this way of looking forms the basis of my work in both my photography and linocuts.
In a world where everyone has to and wants to look perfect, my attention is focused on the so-called 'imperfections'. For example, I can be fascinated by the imprint of a piece of clothing on the skin. Or by a single hair that was forgotten to be removed..
My working method is a constant search for balance between composition and vulnerability, abstraction and figurative.
