Elizabeth Siegfried, born in Baltimore, Maryland, has lived and worked in Canada for nearly thirty years. Siegfried graduated from Maine Media College with a Master of Fine Arts in Photography in May 2019. She has exhibited her images in Canada, the US, Italy, Germany, Japan and Mexico and presently works with digital capture. She explores the expression of color but has not lost her love for historical processes, her medium for three decades.
Siegfried’s photographs have been reproduced and discussed in such publications as Black & White Magazine, Shadow and Light Magazine and SHOTS Magazine. In 2016, The Canadian Broadcasting Company aired CIRCUS! a video on Siegfried and the cross-generational collaboration with her grandmother.
Her first book entitled LifeLines was published in 2000 and her
work is represented in many private and public collections, including the Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts in Japan and the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa.
