Esther Hessing (1970) is a Dutch photographer best known for her social landscapes. To preserve stories about people’s lives in specific places and circumstances is the main reason for her being a photographer. By photographing from a distant viewpoint she aims to convey stories in full context. The carefully chosen compositions are an important feature of her work. She graduated Cum Laude from the Photo Academy in Rotterdam in 2014 with her 3 books Observation.
After graduation she started the project Bound to the Ground which resulted in a book, published in October 2016 by The Eriskay Connection (the Netherlands)
