Eva Leitolf (b. 1966) lives – when she is not traveling for her projects – in a farm house in the Bavarian Forest, Germany.
She studied at UGH Essen, received her MFA at the California Institute of the Arts and teaches now regularly at international art schools and universities.
Her works were shown at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, the Frankfurter Kunstverein, Sprengel Museum Hannover, the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, the Fotomuseum Rotterdam and the Wallach Art Gallery in New York amongst other institutions worldwide.
Eva cooperates frequently with Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin as well as ZEITmagazin.
This seemingly quiet photoessay — supported by disquieting statistics — examines illegal migration throughout Europe from an unusual point of view.
