I was an actor for 25 years and remain wired for story and connection. I feel a tug in my belly when I look at a great photograph, and I feel the same tug when I capture an unobserved moment of truth.
These are snapshots. I have not owned a camera for many years, but I have a smart phone and I pay attention. I read that Julia Margaret Cameron didn’t pick up a camera until she was 48, so now here I am a year older than she hoping it's not too late to begin (and leaning into the discomfort of letting you watch.)
Having spent half a life in a world of words, I’m now engaging with the world through a lens and a mind more still. Stilled by knowing it’s okay to live a quiet, ordinary life and by recognising I am not alone.
