My name is Francesca Gelli, I am 21 and I come from Prato, Italy. I currently live in Bologna, where I attend university. I have been curious about photography ever since I was a child, throughout some family trips in Europe and Africa, but only since 2014 have I been pursuing it as both a passion and a field of study. I took several photography courses in my hometown and London (short courses at Central Saint Martins in 2014 and 2015).
Over the years I have come to appreciate the world of street photography, a genre I have been practicing consistently for some time now. I learned to value how important random encounters and prompt actions are, to capture the right shot at the right time, as well as patience and endurance in waiting and trying. Last June I curated my first exhibit, which featured a collection of work produced in Prato, Bologna, London and Marrakech. An aim of mine, in this moment of my developing path, is also to tackle documentary photography.
