About Gabriela Celeste

I began my career at 17 in the field of fashion. However I started to feel unsatisfied with just shooting fashion as I felt that I had gotten away from why I love photography which was capturing reality. I began to work with the NYC Ballet in 2016 which gave me the opportunity to do some documentary work while photographing the dancers backstage. I then got the incredible privilege to shoot the 18/19 national campaign for the NYCB. After taking on that project I wanted to take the opportunity to pursue documentary photography further so I took a year to travel and photograph, visiting Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Vietnam and India.
Having the time to develop my work through exploring other cultures has allowed me to get rid of my ego as a photographer. It’s given me an immense amount of gratitude. I’m so thankful to have this tool that brings me into worlds that I otherwise would never have experienced, something that I will never take for granted..
