Gamin Kim is a visual artist who utilizes photography as her primary medium, focusing on long-term projects that explore the processes through which narratives are constructed and interpreted. Her practice includes Latent Image (2016–2018), an investigation into the interpretation of photographic images; Gime, and 49 Days (2017–2023), an exploration of Jeju’s shamanic culture; and the ongoing project Evidence: Testimony (2019– ), which centers on the Jeju 4.3 Incident. Kim also served as an editorial board member for 4.3 and Peace, the official journal of the Jeju 4.3 Peace Foundation (2020–2022).
