I'm Gavin Wallace and I'm a photographer from Northampton, England. I come from a design and advertising background and worked mostly in the music industry designing record covers and CD artwork for various record labels.
Photography became a big part of my life just over 10 years ago when I picked my first digital SLR. I'd learnt the basics on an old Pentax film camera that my Grandad had given me but it wasn't until Digital SLR's started becoming more affordable that photography really had me hooked. I started off in 2006 shooting within the Drum and Bass scene. I was lucky enough to get onstage access immediately because my friends where also promoters of large events which gave me the edge. Jungle / Drum and Bass is a lively, vibrant dance scene with dark sweaty clubs to large festivals and arenas and I fast became a well known face within the Drum and Bass world for capturing the raw, uncompromising underground rave scene. This led to me working with most of the biggest DJ's, MC's and record labels in DnB and being resident photographer for Ram Records and touring with the biggest of them all, Andy C.
I still like to venture into a sweaty club from time to time but I now concentrate on fine art portraiture and documentary photography.
