About Gerjo te Linde

Dutch wet plate artist and fine art photographer pictorialist (NL 1964)

After I came into contact with the historical wet plate collodion process my view on photography has clearly changed.
Since then my work has become about personal subjects as well as social themes.

Creating this unique art is not only a reflection on myself but also on the way I value our modern society.

Using the historic photographic wet plate collodion process, I engrave the light into pure silver just like the ancestors of the 19th century did.
The deceleration of this fascinating analogue process makes any masquerade of the subject disappear.
Although I am photographing the outside – in reality you are witnessing the inside. In my hand-crafted images, I feel the energy and the soul of the subject in all its dimensions. All perfect through imperfection.
