Gianluca Cecere, documentary photographer, was born in Naples, Italy, in 1968.
He studied Economics at the Federico II University of Naples. After nine years working as broker in a bank, he decided to devote himself professionally to the photography and his work focuses on the most on social, political and economic issues.
He has produced reportages in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, North America, Europe. He is the author and photographer of the documentary "The Empty House" about organ trafficking during the war in Kosovo, finalist at Visa Pour L'Image-Perpignan 2010.
He has won twice the European Journalism Grant with two reportages, respectively, about the food security in Egypt and about the watergrabbing in Palestine.
He is the author of “Walking the line, Palestine and Israel along the border that does not exist” a book published in September 2018 about a trip along the green line, 50 years since the six days war.
