Gina is drawn to colour and dilapidation. She is driven by spontaneity and playfulness. Her practice engages with both documentary and street photography traditions with a focus on visually arresting analog portraits. Her most alluring works occur when both subject and photographer are outside of their comfort zones, embracing their mutual vulnerabilities. Through this collaborative portrait, she affords her subjects a sense of dignity.
Born in Melbourne, Gina completed a Bachelor of Photography at RMIT before making a name for herself in Australia and overseas. Her work has been published in national and international publications and she has participated in various international group exhibitions at institutions including Somerset House, Tate Modern, London University and The Australian Centre for Photography.
