I was born in Castelfranco, Veneto, Italy in 1970. I received a degree in Philosophy at Venice University and a MSC at London School of Economics.
I am mastering of photography and interest in technical precision began as a child with a gift from his father, an old analogical Zeiss camera. Since then he has been driven by a passion, practice and natural sensibility toward composition and framing.
I was always fascinated by the beauty of people, regardless of aesthetic appearance, and the places where people gather. Growing up I focused on portrait photography and reportage, later combining this with his desire to explore the world and discover different cultures. My photographs stem primarily from places where “humanity palpitates”, like Yemen, Israel, Palestine, Cuba, New York, Hong Kong and, of course, Rome! Giovanni's second passion for endurance motorbiking has enabled him to photograph the deserts of Oman, Egypt, Morocco and Algeria.
