I was born in Serbia. Since 1999 I am living in Brazil where I came to escape from the conflicts in my native country. Currently, I am teaching at the São Paulo Federal University. Photography has been my most eloquent form of expression since I was 17 years old.
My art deal with emerging issues of the contemporary world, such as violence, immigration, loneliness, human relationships, among others. Through my work I represent the universe of feelings and sensations. I am nourished by personal experiences, like drama lived during the war and the painful reconstruction of my life in a foreign country far from relatives. I articulate poetic strategies that betray the materiality of the visible field and often make use of layers and noises to create enigmatic images.
My essays were awarded and exhibited in major institutions and museums, being part of important public and private collections in Brazil. I also published a photo book, winner of Funarte national prize in Brazil.
