When I graduated with a university degree in Psychology, I had no idea what I was going to do with my life. So I went travelling to explore the world. After many months on the road, with no money left , and an expired Visa permit, I remember the advise a businessman gave him on a plane ride home from India:
“When you’re young , you have time and no money. When you’re older , you have money and no time” . With this confusing message, the young, broke student I was at the time, jumped into a career in I.T.
Years later, fully engaged in a career in I.T, I found myself with collatoral (a mortgage, a car, etc) but no time. I remembered the words of that businessman so many years ago. So I took a leap of faith and changed careers, one that allowed me some time to reflect on the world around me, and to pursue my passion in photography.
Having made a full circle, I now find himself looking at the accomplishments I have made in my life –an education, a career, a family, friends, and community ties. I am now fully engaged in this new phase of my life, sometimes questioning my sanity, but mostly enjoying life, with a bit more time to reflect.
“Now you know why I studied psychology, I’m still trying to figure life out”. Greg
