Hannes Wiedemann (*1991 in Germany) is a Berlin-based photographer and artist. He graduated from Ostkreuz School of Photography in 2017.
Using the conceptual framework of the ‘technosphere’ as a foundation, his work explores human physicality in the anthropocene. While Grinders (2016) documents the DIY cyborg community in the United States, his project Bits and Pieces (2017) is a visceral odyssey through contemporary Seoul, the nicknamed ‘world capital of plastic surgery’.
Grinders (self-published, Berlin 2016) was awarded third prize of Kassel Dummy Award 2017 and selected BJP Breakthrough Award 2017 runner-up.
Bits and Pieces is currently nominated for La Fábrica / Photo London Dummy Award.
