About
Hedva Rokach is an Israeli documentary and fine art photographer, writer, editor and visual storyteller whose work explores identity, memory, community and cultural intersections across Israel, Georgia, Eastern Europe and the United States.
Her practice combines documentary observation with a poetic visual language, focusing on communities, border regions, cultural heritage and everyday human experience. She develops long-term independent projects that engage with Jewish life, Georgian culture, post-conflict spaces and cross-cultural dialogue.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including solo exhibitions at the Maine Jewish Museum and the Tikotin Museum of Japanese Art, and has received recognition from international photography awards including the Budapest International Foto Awards, Tokyo International Foto Awards and the Prix de la Photographie Paris.
Alongside her artistic practice, she works in art book publishing, editing and translation through Itay Bahur Publishing.
Recent projects include documentary work on Jewish communities in Maine, post–October 7 life in Wadi Ara, and long-term photographic series in Georgia, Romania and Albania.
