The first time I fell in love with street photography was when I studied in China in my twenties. To say it was "different" from my small Finnish factory town where I'd come from doesn't quite cut it. I'm about to become an empty-nester, with my youngest kid finding her "China" in Vermont-hippy country, and I continue to fall in love with street photography every day, with another change of scenery... The East Village, New York City. My husband waits patiently, or as patiently as one can be while yelling "Come on, we're gonna be late!!" and I attempt to uncover some of this big town's hidden treasures.. each more "different" than the last.
