Herbert Mulanovich (b. 1979) is a photographer who imbues landscapes and portraiture with emotional resonance. Through the careful framing and restaging of the everyday situations and environments he finds himself in, Mulanovich reflects on social relations, the passage of time, and the culture of Latin America, where he grew up in Lima, Peru. He studied photography at the Gaudí Institute and the Centro de la Imagen, both Lima, Peru and film at the New York Film Academy in New York, NY.
Mulanovich presented his first two solo exhibitions, Distancias Aparentes and Spatula at Cecilia Gonzalez and Denise Dourojeanni Gallery (Lima, Peru). His most recent solo exhibition about street dogs was presented both at Ricardo Palma Cultural Center (Lima, Peru) and, in an updated form, at Galería Metropolitana (Santiago, Chile). He has also participated in group exhibitions in venues such as Centro de la Imagen (Lima, Peru), Luis Miró Garland Contemporary Arts Center (Lima, Peru), and Monumental Photo Cultural Center (Callao, Peru).
