Hesham Al-Ammal is a documentary photographer from Muharraq, Kingdom of Bahrain. His themes include abstract, landscape, documentary, and street photography. Mostly focusing on documenting life in the little island of the Bahrain archipelago, his photography covers traditional, folkloric, and vernacular images from the region.
His work has been exhibited in several galleries in the region, including the National Fine Arts Exhibition, the Bin Matar House, and the American University in Sharjah, among others. He attended several photography workshops by photographers such as Peter Bialobrizki, Markus Shaden, among others. His photographs were published in several books and magazines, and recently he produced several documentary photo books.
