Holger Bartels, is a self-taught photographer who made his vocation a profession. Growing up, he spent a lot of time outside in nature, and starting developing a feeling for observation, composition, and color. At the age of eighteen, he also started to discover his own natural spirituality by meditating in the grass fields near his hometown.
Through his deep connection with nature combined with his presence and stillness of mind, Holger has an innate capability of capturing beauty in seemingly ordinary settings through his photographs. He observes that everything in nature is composed with simple elements and yet the unique and subtle arrangement of these elements gives rise to a “higher order” that creates feelings of beauty and joy to the observer. He has particularly developed an eye for seeing “objects” such as flowers as well as their surroundings simultaneously, which enables him to capture moments of magic with his camera.
