Ida Nisonen (b.1981 Kangasala) is a multidisciplinary artist, art educator and mother of three children. She lives and works in Kerava, Finland. She graduated as a photographer from the Institute of Art and Design at the Lahti University of Applied Sciences and as a Master of Philosophy from the University of Jyväskylä. Especially her studies of feminist philosophy have had a significant impact on her art and artistic practises.
Nisonen works with photo- and video-based media using self-portraits. From photo and video works, Nisonen builds installations. In her installations she uses ready-made recycled materials and materials found in nature.
