I was born in 1978 in Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy. After graduating from the Brera academy of Fine art with a focus in painting, I worked in various photography studios in Milan and London from 2001 to 2006. After a stage at Contrasto’s agency in Milan in 2006, I worked for one year as an assistant to photographer Stefano De Luigi. At the same time I started personal projects, the first one being a reportage following the motherhood path of immigrant women in three hospitals in Milano, published by Italy’s magazine Io Donna in 2008. In 2010 I completed a master’s degree in visual storytelling at the Danish school of Photojournalism in Aarhus. I continued to work on themes related to women in different countries, focusing on maternity conditions as a mirror of the respect of women’s rights in a country or a culture. My stories and pictures have been published in various well-known magazines including: Marie Claire France, Le Monde, Women's Wear Daily, Io Donna, L'Espresso, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, The Financial Times, The Observer, Internazionale, AD, Cosmopolitan Germany and El Pais. My project: “Poland: Ladies in Business” about the rise of Polish women enterpreneurs, was among the winners of "The Other Hundred" contest in 2014.
I've been represented by the Luz Photo Agency since 2011.
