I have a background in science (biology and philosophy) . Photography -working with images instead of words and proven facts - is less intellectual, more spiritual and therefore more satisfying for me. Therefore I switched from science to photography.
For some time I sold cover photos to a dendrological magazine by following trees through the seasons. In 2013 the municipality of Utrecht bought 17 images from a project of mine about building a bridge. In 2014 I made my first photobook (Discovering Japan, printed on demand). My peers I meet in a local photoclub, connected to the Dutch Photo Union of which I am a member. In 2018 a picture of mine was selected for Its yearbook. I was a nominee in one category of the last SIPA-contest.
An ongoing documentary project of mine is covering the daily life and societal change in my country (The Netherlands) published on my bilingual website (Dutch/English) 'ons dagelijks land / our daily country' (see website url) .
