Jake Singer is a multidisciplinary artist born in 1991 in Johanesburg where he lives and works. In 2013, Singer completed his undergraduate degree at Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town. He has also studied at Central Saint Martins in the United Kingdom and in 2012 he assisted William Kentridge’s with The Refusal of Time.
Singer presented two solo shows at Hazard Gallery in 2016 and 2017 in Johannesburg and recently, had a solo show in Amsterdam at Punt WG. He has participated in duo shows at 50 Golbourne Gallery (London, 2017) and Matter Gallery (Toronto, 2017). Group shows include: Cape Town Art Fair 2017; FNB Joburg Art Fair 2016; Suba Biennale, Dak’art, Senegal 2016; Art Basel 2016; Art Lima, Peru 2015; Another Antipodes, Perth 2017 and Also Known As Africa (AKAA), Paris 2017/2016.
His work is featured in several private collections and has permanent sculptures at the Nirox Sculpture Park.
