Jalisa Schellekens is born and raised in Veghel, The Netherlands 1992. She is known for her portraits and her female nudes. Mysterious and compelling are the words that describe her work. She sees the beauty in vulnerable subjects and tries to transform this into strength.
In 2013 she moved to Brussels, Belgium to develop herself further as a photographer and went to Luca School of Arts - Campus Narafi. In 2016 she moved back to the Netherlands and studied as a exchange student at the Royal Academy of Arts, The Hague, where she came in touch with instant film. The vulnerability of the instant film was what fascinated her. In September 2017 she graduated with her instant film series ‘Chemical imbalances?’ and amazed the audience with extraordinary beauty.
