My name is Jan van Wessel (1969). I live in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. I have a master-degree in Visual Art/photography and a master of science in Psychology.
The past decades I have always worked two or maximum three days a week as a social worker/psychologist. I feel lucky I'm able to spend the rest of the week making photos or music. I like this varied combination. In this way I can explore myself and other humans from different perspectives. My goal is deepening my favorite subjects identity, authenticity and vulnerability, always with respect and sometimes with a touch of humor. In the end I hope to find visual examples to show other people how rich, beautiful, funny and complex our inner life and behaviour is.
