I grew up during what I think was one of the most interesting times to be living in spite of its turbulence. My family like many during that time always took pictures. I use to love looking at the old pictures of my family because they told me of a time before mine. I also loved looking at Ebony magazine, Jet magazine, Life, National Geographic and LOOK magazines. Gordon Parks and Moneta Sleet, Jr., told a story of the nation, and cities; James Van der Zee showed me Harlem life. LOOK, Life, and Nat. Geo showed me the world.
I use to use film, but digital photography opened up more possibilities for me including the digital darkroom. I like to photograph everything and anything. I am basically self-taught except through classes and books that I’ve read, but photography is about doing, and doing some more. I've have also returned to using film.
