About Jenny Ashley

Jenny Ashley (1975) has a Master’s in English with a minor in Studio Art from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Growing up in California, Ashley spent her time in the darkroom, in community theater, and traveling with her parents to acquire vintage collectibles for their family antique store. As an intersectional feminist artist and teacher of argument and critical thinking, Ashley’s classes explore themes of activism, social justice, and voices of resistance. Launching on International Women’s Day, Ashley’s series Hidden Women: The Lampshade Project is currently a solo exhibition at the Cultural Center in Tijuana (CECUT) on display until August 2021.
