I picked up photography as a hobby after some classes in college in 1998. Back then, they still had a fully equipped dark room that was being used daily. I learned how to use the chemicals and different kinds of paper, and the magic of an image suddenly appearing on a piece of paper awed me.
There was one teacher, who shared his passion with us with great enthusiasm. He taught me how to show my view on the world using a single lens reflex camera and he advised me to get myself a camera and keep practicing. In 1999 I got my first SLR, an old Minolta X300, and started photographing everything that caught my eye.
In 2006 I held my first exhibition. Visitors responded very positively and that gave me the courage to go back to school and study Photographic Design. In 2012 I graduated at Dutch School of Photography (Stichting de Nederlandse Fotovakschool). Since then I have been working as a freelance photographer in the Netherlands and several personal projects.
