Bachelor of Fine Arts by the University of Barcelona, he holds a masters degree in Photography for the Central Saint Martins School (London). The artist Jesus Madriñán (Santiago de Compostela 1984) inspires himself in his own life experience and his surroundings to create his artworks. Thus, the product of such creation arouses from the need to articulate ideas and reflections that bombard him in ordinary and apparently anodyne situations. His current experiments on studio photography techniques are an attempt to exceed traditional parameters. His work nourishes itself from the paradox that arouses when adopting foreseeable and meticulous techniques to handle inexorably spontaneous and hard to gasp situations.
That contradiction gives birth to series in which the artist portraits unknown young individuals in the relaxed and social atmosphere of the nightlife scene. Classical portraying techniques are reinvented when its restraint and solemnity are confronted with the stream of life surrounding them.
