Joe Van Eeckhout is a photographer and documentary filmmaker, originally from the Pacific Northwest of the United States, currently based in Nairobi, Kenya.
His work primarily follows social and environmental issues with interests that include climate change, conflict, and exploring new forms of visual storytelling. He is often drawn to stories exploring the evolving relationship between humans and land. He holds a Masters in New Media Photojournalism from the Corcoran School of Arts + Design at the George Washington University.
He is a member of the documentary collective, DISCOURSE and Frontline Freelance Register.
