Johannes Bosgra (b. 1979 in Hardegarijp, the Netherlands) has travelled to the most desolate places on earth from a young age to create his work, from Antarctica to Alaska. Bosgra uses contemporary classical music as an inspiration in the creation of his photographic work and explores the links between classical music and visual art. And he plays piano himself. He has worked closely with musicians and ensembles such as Philip Glass, Maarten van Veen, Ralph van Raat, DoelenEnsemble to create gesamtkunstwerke of visual art and classical music. Bosgras work has been exhibited internationally at institutions such as: New World Symphony Hall, Miami; concert hall De Doelen, Rotterdam; Tonhalle Düsseldorf, Düsseldorf; Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, Amsterdam. Johannes Bosgra is selected as GUP New Dutch Photography Talent 2020. In 2019 Bosgra was one of the three winners of the talentproject for visual artists Verhalen in het Landschap .
