John Lusis (b. 1987, Madison, WI) is a photographer based in Chicago, IL. He received his BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 2009 and MFA in photography from Columbia college Chicago in 2016. John’s practice focuses on the on the built environment of Midwestern Cities. Specifically, obsolescence’s effects on buildings causing simultaneous growth and destruction. His work has been shown nationally, internationally and online as well as held in private and public collections in the United states. His work has been exhibited in various galleries across the Midwest and internationally, as well as online. It is also held in private collections and public collections.
