As a child, growing up in a small town in northern Sweden, I was was pretty much always imagining being someone else, somewhere else. Living through experiencing other peoples lives and stories, whether in books, comics, movies or video games, one could easily have called me an introvert. I also drew a lot. Making up landscapes and characters.
In my adolescent years the pen was exchanged for a camera. Since then I have been taking pictures. At first as a way of showing the beauty in the everyday life; now as a tool for interpreting and understanding - and also to tell something about - the world around me.
After sessions of living in China and Stockholm, and later completing my undergrad studies in Photojournalism at Mid Sweden University, I am now back to where I started in the north, not imagining being somewhere else as much. Here I am working as a freelance documentary photographer focusing on contemporary stories, trying to balance assignments and personal work.
