Hi, I'm Joshua Haller. I'm a photographer and designer living and working out of Beijing, China.
Someone once remarked that photography is in my blood. That resonates with me. I don't just take photos; creating photographic art is part of who I am. I capture moments, looking for what lies beneath the surface - the moods, emotions, and character of people and places.
China is also a big part of me, and my photography. I moved to China as a kid back in 1997, and I've lived here ever since. I feel a special connection to this country and its people, and I appreciate the privilege of living in a city I love. I'm grateful for the opportunities I get to take photos of people and places around China - whether it's Tibetan pilgrims at Yarchen Ger, trips with Chinese travel magazines, hiking the Great Wall, or portraits capturing the lives of expat families here in Beijing. I am always humbled by the different people I meet in my travels around China, and the kindness I've been shown. It is an honor to capture moments of their lives, and to share those moments with you.
