Joshua Irwandi (b. 1991) is an Indonesian photographer based in Jakarta, and a former staff at the Asmat Museum of Culture and Progress, Asmat, West Papua, Indonesia. He left Indonesia when he was 16 for high school in Canada (graduated 2010), BA in English Literature at University of Exeter (graduated 2013). While doing BA he spent time mostly on photography; he was photographer at my college paper Exepose (nominated Guardian Student Publication of the Year) and designer/photographer for student theatre companies. He interned at the Jakarta Globe in 2011, Kompas in 2011 and 2012, and The Times UK in 2012. He started MA in 2014, and started more intensely photographing the Asmat. He has been enrolled in several workshop opportunities in 2014, namely New York Times Portfolio Review, Magnum AGM Masterclass, Eddie Adams Workshop XVII, and VII Photo Masterclass. In 2015, he was runner up for Burn Magazine EPF for Young Talent. Ever since, he continued working in Asmat up until 2016.
