I'm an indigenous storyteller from the Mexica/Otomi Tribe. In 2015 I was adopted by a Lakota Medicine man from North Dakota. We had embarked together on a healing walk from the Black Hills, to Fort Laramie, during which time we prayed, sang, and did traditional ceremonies. This was the foundation of my photographic journey. I rediscovered my indigenous identity through spiritual practices and I continue to grow through his mentorship. I practice non-extractive storytelling, meaning I try to give as much as I take. My goal is to honor the people by engaging in their lives and struggles. My work aims to create awareness about issues affecting native communities and to amplify the voices of those in the shadows of our society.
