Architect and photographer, José Roberto Bassul was born in Rio de Janeiro and lives in Brasilia. His work turns to architecture, urban landscape and social aspects of contemporary life.
He was honoured and awarded in prestigious international competitions such as Prix de the Photographie Paris - PX3 (gold award), International Photo Awards (1st place), Sony World Photography Awards, LensCulture Gallery, Miami Street Photography Festival, Siena Int'l Photography Awards, , Tokio Foto Awards and Moscow Int'l Foto Awards. In Brazil, he was awarded in the ParatyEmFoco Int'l Festival, Foto Capital, Tiradentes Photography Festival and FotoRio.
His photographs were exhibited or displayed in Brasilia, Rio, São Paulo, Tiradentes, Paraty, London, Havana, Miami, Siena, Paris and Tokio and published in specialized magazines such as B&W Magazine, Minimalissimo, BEX Magazine and Photo.
In 2018, he published a photobook entitled "Concretist Cityscape" which won the gold award at the Prix de la Photographie Paris - PX3.
