Architect and photographer, José Roberto Bassul was born in Rio de Janeiro and lives in Brasilia. His authorial work turns to architecture, urban landscape, and social aspects of contemporary life.
He was honoured or awarded in prestigious international competitions such as Sony World Photography Awards, LensCulture Gallery, International Photo Awards, Miami Street Photography Festival, Le Plus Grand Concours Photographique du Monde, Siena International Photography Awards, Prix de the Photographie Paris - PX3, Tokio Foto Awards and Moscow International Foto Awards. In Brazil, he was awarded by the Paraty Em Foco International Festival, Foto Capital and Tiradentes Photography Festival.
His photographs were exhibited or displayed in Brasilia, Rio, Tiradentes, Paraty, London, Havana, Miami, Siena, Paris and Tokio and published in specialized magazines such as BW Magazine (USA), Minimalissimo (England), BEX Magazine (Argentina) and Photo (France).
In 2018, he published a photobook entitled "Concretist Cityscape" that won the Gold Award at the Prix de la Photographie Paris - PX3.
