Julia Gat is a 20 years old photographer born in Israel and based in the South of France. After being homeschooled as a child, Gat studied for a BA (Hons) in Arts and Humanities at the Open University (UK). Her photographic work won 1st Prize of Festival Portraits de Vichy in 2016 and has been shown in New York and France in various spaces, including the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris. Gat has recently been discovered by Photo Talent Academy, organised by PHOTO Magazine and Huawei Mobile on Paris Première TV channel.
Interested in supporting emerging artists herself, Gat’s curatorial project Family Business highlights the context of her thematic - family documentation - presenting international photographers at Exchange Rates Art Fair in New York, October 2016 and Festival Quinzaine Israélienne in Marseille, November 2016.
