Born – 1995, Bellmore, NY
I’m a photographer that is currently living on Long Island in a town called Bellmore. I am currently working as a freelance photographer as I continue my education as a fulltime student at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. I acquired my Associate’s Degree in Photography and am continuing on with my bachelors. For the past few years, my work has consisted of cinematic portraits of my family. The photographs I created are situations, which include everyday moments of their lives that I directed with my lighting and my subjects. This is a project that I am still currently working on. My goal as a photographer is to have an exhibition in the next few years.
Justin’s work provides evidence that all humans need to feel loved and appreciated throughout their lifetime. Using a cinematic approach to photography, he allows the viewer to have this intimate connection to his subjects. He uses a mixture ambient and strobe lighting to create dramatic scenes so the viewer fells like they are watching those moments caught by his camera. The use of the ambient lighting provides a sense of warmth and familiar atmosphere. The strobe lighting gives his subjects a sharp, clear appearance allowing them to be the focal point of the photograph. Justin will continue to use his camera as a tool to unmask the human desire to connect, to belong, and to be appreciated.
Justin currently lives in Bellmore, New York and is a student at The Fashion Institute of Technology, while he interns at the Soho Photo Gallery. He received his Associates degree in Photography from The Fashion Institute of Technology. Justin will obtain his BFA in May 2017 majoring in Photography with a minor in Art History.
