Born in Hong Kong and currently based in the United Kingdom, Kalina is instinctively drawn to scenes that evoke feelings she cannot yet explain. Rather than beginning with predetermined ideas, her long-term photographic projects emerge through collecting these fleeting moments. Only with time does she begin to understand why these moments drew her in, as recurring themes gradually emerge across her work.
